¡Hola! Pues dediqué el tiempo para escribir esta entrada, no quiero atrasarme mucho con esto pero aún estaba debatiendo los temas para el podcast (gracias por las ideas) y ésta estaba entre ellas, pero decidí que si llego a hacer el podcast de UPPM sería luego, aunque todavía no tengo un tema, ya que luego de leer sus recomendaciones se me ha ocurrido una idea pero aún no sé como formarla completamente. ¡Y también comenzaré con las entradas bilingües!

Hello! Well, I devoted the time to write this post, I don't want to get behind too much with this but I was still debating about the podcast's topics (I mentioned that I wanted to do a podcast in a previous blog), and this topic was among the ideas that people gave me, but I decided that if I made the podcast about this it would be later. I don't have topic yet but after reading people's recommendations I have a sort of idea but I'm not completely sure of how to set it up.

Aaaaanyway, comenzaré este Un País Por Mes con mi país natal, Venezuela.

Anyway, I'll start this One Country Per Month with my native country, Venezuela.

Esta será una entrada corta ya que, debido a que debía publicarla antes (pero que constantemente posponía) y no lo hice, haré algo como un resumen colocando lo más importante de mi país.

This will be a short post because I posponed writing it so I'll do some kind of resume writing the most important things of my country.

Venezuela se ubica en América del Sur, con Colombia al oeste, Brasil al sur, con Guyana al este, y al norte con el mar Caribe. Su capital es Caracas. Posee un territorio de  916 445 km². Venezuela fue el primer país de América del Sur en proclamar su independencia del Imperio español, proceso que se consolidó con la batalla de Carabobo y la posterior batalla naval del Lago de Maracaibo en 1823 con la expulsión definitiva de las tropas españolas.

Venezuela is located in South America, with Colombia on the west, Brazil on the south, Guyana on the east, and on the north with the Caribbean Sea. Its capital is Caracas. Venezuela's territory covers around 916,445 km2 (353,841 sq mi). Venezuela became one of the first Spanish-American colonies to declare independence, process consolidated with the Battle of Carabobo and the following naval battle of Maracaibo's Lake in 1823 with the final expulsion of Spanish troops.

Por encontrarse Venezuela en el trópico, posee un clima cálido y lluvioso con dos estaciones: una estación seca, que va desde octubre a marzo, y una lluviosa, que va de abril a septiembre. Las temperaturas varían desde los 0° grados hasta más de 30° dependiendo de la zona debido a la altitud.

Venezuela, for being in the tropic, it has a warm and rainy climate with two seasons: a dry season that goes from October to March, and a rainy one that goes from April to September. The temperature varies from 0° C (32° F) to more than 30° C (86° F) depending on the zone due to the altitude.

Y pues lo dejaré hasta aquí porque no me meteré en política porque es un asunto delicadito aquí (¿donde no?) y no sé de que más hablar puesto que ya sé todo porque es mi país, pero si quieren saber más pueden preguntarme o buscar en internet. Me hubiese gustado que esta primera entrada fuese la más cargada pero es algo que ya sé y no tengo tantas ganas de investigar más, perdón por eso, ya con los otros países si pondré más porque al mismo tiempo aprenderé yo de estos. Y se supone que iba a ser una entrada por semana pero la nación de la flojera y de 'es enero aún y no tengo clases' me ataca. De todas formas, espero les haya gustado esta entrada.

So I will leave it here because I won't get into politics because it's a delicate matter here (where it isn't?) and I don't know what else to talk about since I already know everything because it's my country, but if you want to know more you can ask me or search on the Internet. I had liked that this first entry was the most loaded but it's something that I already know and I don't have too much desire to investigate more, sorry about that, with the other countries I will put more effort because I will learn of these at the same time. And it was supposed to be an entry per week but the nation of the laziness and of  'it's still January and I don' have classes' attacked me. Anyway, I hope you like this entry, my first biligual one! I will make English-only entries eventually.
